XCP Salt Remover Ready-to-Use Spray is a water-based, ready-to-use liquid, designed to quickly, safely and effectively remove salt from a wide range of surfaces. From rinsing outboard engines, to removing road salt from your car and motorbike.
Water alone effectively dissolves salt, but when water evaporates, salt crystals remain on the surface. Salt is hygroscopic - it attracts and retains moisture, creating the perfect environment for corrosion when combined with oxygen and a corrodible surface. XCP Salt Remover solves this problem by radically reducing water's surface tension, delivering improved surface spread and coverage. The improved run-off means more effective salt removal - the salt is dissolved AND removed from the surface.
The problem with using water alone when removing salt:
— Salt is pH neutral (pH 7) and therefore cannot be ‘neutralised’ any further.
— Water does effectively dissolve salt.
— However, water evaporates and salt crystals do not.
— When salt water evaporates, salt crystals remain on the surface.
— Salt is ‘hygroscopic’; it attracts and retains moisture.
— Creates perfect environment for corrosion when salt is on a surface.

— Salt must be dissolved and removed from the surface.
Treat the relevant area directly with a uniform spray of the liquid. Allow the product to work for a few minutes. Rinse thoroughly with water. Repeat as necessary. Results are immediate, except on areas with excessive salt crystal accumulation. Excessive salt crystal build-up can be broken down by repeat application, immersion and/or agitation. XCP Salt Remover Ready-to-Use Spray is a run-off liquid and does not lay down a protective coating, or bond to surfaces.
It is safe to use on metals, rubbers, plastics, paints and coatings. If in any doubt about material compatibility, test on an inconspicuous area first.
It is pH neutral, non-corrosive and biodegradable.
