• FIRST OR SECOND FOCAL PLANE RETICLES First focal plane (FFP) reticles change size as you adjust the magnification, ensuring the reticle subtensions (distance between marks) remain accurate at any power. Second focal plane (SFP) reticles stay the same size throughout the magnification range, making them easier to see at lower power but subtensions are only accurate at one specified magnification. FFP is ideal for long-range precision shooting where range estimation and holdovers are critical, while SFP is favored for hunting and shooting at known distances.
