PENETRATION EFFICACY TEST
We tested nine multi-purpose maintenance fluids using in-house standard operating procedures for penetrative properties.
RESULTS: Both XCP One and XCP Green One have a marked improvement in penetrative performance in comparison to alternative multi-purpose products tested.
That makes XCP One up to 50% more effective at loosening rusted bolts than competitors! Use it to release metal parts that are stuck, seized or rusted together.
Penetration efficacy was measured by determining the torque required to release a bolt that has been rusted into a steel block.
PROCEDURE: At first we prepared the mild steel test blocks with a thread tapped from a circular well cut into the top face. Then we filled the section with salt water for 24 hours. A mild steel hex bolt was also submerged in salt water.
After 24 hours, the hex bolt was tightened into the steel test block to a measured torque. Then both the block and bolt were left to stand for 48 hours.
A known volume of the test product was then introduced into the well around the hex bolt head and the block was left to stand for 7 days.
Then we measured the torque required to release the bolt head from the block.
